What Is This Moth Doing?

It seems to be excreting a soft firm fuzzy fibrous substance
on the side of a concrete block that was just sitting on the ground.

Quite an interesting specimen.

Handsome too.

Notice the claw like grippers on the ends of its fuzzy legs.
