| This mink spent a half hour repeatedly diving in the shallows in front of the cottage. He swims in circles for a while before he dives. He stays submerged for a long time - maybe a minute. Finally he came up with a fish in his mouth. |
| I shot a movie of him with the fish in his mouth, running along the
rocks and swimming. When he swam with the fish in his mouth he kept his
tail out of the water for balance.
I will upload the movie to YouTube next time I am on high speed. Search for "stormytime" to find my videos on YouTube.com. Look at the size of the wake, and he is barely moving. He seems like a very inefficient swimmer. I watched him swim all the way across the lake and back so I guess it doesn't tire him out too much. |
