Collecting information about individual properties is one of the major tasks to be completed prior to the implementation of 9-1-1. Each property owner in the County will receive a telephone call from a member of the 9-1-1 Team. If we are unable to reach someone at their seasonal residence, we will contact them at their permanent residence. In the course of the telephone call, the owner will be asked to provide the following details about their property - (1) the assessment roll number (2) the identification number given to your property by your cottage association (3) the name of your cottage association, if applicable (4) the name of the road association to which you belong if one was formed to maintain the private road to which your driveway is attached (access road) (5) the lot and concession or subdivision plan number (6) your permanent address and telephone number if you are a seasonal resident or absentee owner (7) your e-mail address or a fax number as an alternative to contact by telephone (8) driveway information – length, number of dwellings off the driveway, hazards along the driveway, surface material, presence of a gate (9) access road information – common name, alternate name(s), maintenance responsibility (public, private, both), snowplowing responsibility (public, private, both) (10) immediate neighbours – across from you, to the left and right, on your side of the road and on the side opposite (11) brief description of the dwelling or business premise and the landmarks or distinguishing features on the property or nearby (12) driving instructions to yourproperty from the nearest provincial, county or municipal road Left and right is established by standing with your back to your building facing down the driveway to the access road. To assist property owners in preparing for the call, send the 9-1-1 Team an e-mail or fax that includes your e-mail address or fax number, the assessment roll number that is printed on your tax bill and your phone number (home and cottage). In response, you will get a fax or e-mail back with a WORD document containing more details about the various pieces of information we require. The fax number for the 9-1-1 Team is (705) 286-4881 The e-mail address is 911@county.haliburton.on.ca For the lastest information visit the Municipal page at:
